LAHORE: The Pakistan U-19 cricket team kicked off its ICC U19 World Cup 2026 campaign today, beginning training sessions at the Masvingo Sports Club, Zimbabwe.

Led by captain Farhan Yousaf, the team’s focus on Day 1 was acclimatiding to Zimbabwean conditions and fine-tuning skills ahead of the main event. Training began with coaches emphasising discipline, adaptability, and match readiness.

Pakistan’s recent form has been nothing short of clinical. They lifted the U19 Asia Cup with a resounding 191-run victory over India in the final, a statement win that established them as one of the tournament favourites. Shortly after, they triumphed in the Tri-Nations Series against Zimbabwe, sealing the title with a commanding 9-wicket win. These results have bolstered confidence and showcased the depth of talent in the squad. On January 10, Pakistan will face Bangladesh in a practice match at the same venue. This fixture will serve as a vital test for Farhan Yousaf’s side, allowing them to experiment with combinations and strategies against another strong Asian contender before the official tournament begins.
