Govt to set up vegetable market in Pindi ahead of Ramazan

Rawalpindi: The Punjab Government has approved the establishment of a permanent vegetable market in Rawalpindi and a temporary one in Murree to ensure consumers have access to essential food items at regulated prices during Ramazan.

Salma Butt, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Food Security and Consumer Protection, said the temporary market in Murree would provide vegetables, fruit and other essentials to residents in the hill district, ensuring uninterrupted supply to both of its tehsils.

She was chairing a meeting at the DC’s Office in Rawalpindi, attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner General Dr Hassan Tariq, Chairman Rawalpindi-Islamabad Vegetable Market Sajid Abbasi, representatives of traders’ associations and relevant govt officials.
