LAHORE: Cement dispatches posted marginal growth of 1.47 per cent in December 2025, with total dispatches reaching 4.347 million tonnes compared with 4.284 million tonnes in the same month last year.
According to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), domestic cement dispatches during December 2025 stood at 3.725 million tonnes, up from 3.5 million tonnes in December 2024, reflecting an increase of 6.42 per cent. Export dispatches, however, continued their downward trend, falling by 20.66 per cent to 621,685 tonnes from 783,550 tonnes in the corresponding month last year.
During the month, north-based cement mills despatched 3.153 million tonnes, marking an increase of 5.56 per cent compared with 2.987 million tonnes in December 2024. In contrast, south-based mills despatched 1.19 million tonnes, down 7.94 per cent from 1.29 million tonnes a year earlier.
In the domestic market, north-based mills despatched 3.153 million tonnes in December 2025, showing growth of 9.75 per cent against 2.873 million tonnes in December 2024. Domestic dispatches by south-based mills stood at 572,263 tonnes, down 8.81 per cent compared with 627,519 tonnes in the same month last year.
Exports from the south declined by 7.14 per cent to 621,685 tonnes in December 2025 from 669,461 tonnes a year earlier. There were no exports from north-based mills during the month.
In the first six months of the current financial year, total cement dispatches, including domestic sales and exports, reached 25.783 million tonnes, up 9.67 per cent from 23.51 million tonnes in the corresponding period last year. Domestic dispatches during this period rose by 13.11 per cent to 21.152 million tonnes from 18.7 million tonnes, while export dispatches declined by 3.73 per cent to 4.631 million tonnes from 4.81 million tonnes.
North-based mills despatched 17.915 million tonnes domestically during July–December 2025, an increase of 14.67 per cent from 15.623 million tonnes in the same period last year. Exports from the north fell by 18.53 per cent to 808,506 tonnes from 992,413 tonnes. Overall, total dispatches by north-based mills increased by 12.68 per cent to 18.723 million tonnes during the first half of the current financial year, compared with 16.616 million tonnes a year earlier.
Domestic dispatches by south-based mills during July–December 2025 stood at 3.237 million tonnes, up 5.22 per cent from 3.077 million tonnes in the same period last year. Exports from the south were largely flat at 3.822 million tonnes, compared with 3.818 million tonnes a year earlier. Total dispatches by south-based mills rose by 2.39 per cent to 7.059 million tonnes during the first six months of the current financial year, from 6.894 million tonnes in the corresponding period last year.
