KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that all commercial bank branches will extend their working hours till 10pm on Wednesday to facilitate taxpayers with over-the-counter payments of government duties and taxes, a statement said on Tuesday.
Furthermore, banks have also been advised to keep their relevant branches open on December 31 for as long as necessary to facilitate the special clearing for government transactions conducted by National Institutional Facilitation Technologies, the SBP stated.
Banks have been advised to ensure uninterrupted availability of their online payment channels, ie, internet banking, mobile applications, ATMs, and other digital platforms, to facilitate taxpayers in online payment of government duties and taxes, it added.
