MINGORA: The granddaughter of the Wali of Swat, Zeb-un-Nisa, and members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf legislator Fazal Hakeem on Tuesday accused each other of firing at their residences.

Speaking to the media at her house, Zeb-un-Nisa, alleged that firing was carried out at her residence the previous night allegedly on the instructions of MPA Fazal Hakeem. She said that the walls of her house were targeted and that damaged the property. Zeb-un-Nisa said that MPA Fazal Hakeem had violated the decision of a jirga and said that security personnel deployed with him, along with illegal Class-IV employees, were being used against her.

According to her, the personnel first resorted to aerial firing and later fired at her, the main gate and the boundary walls. She alleged that the security guards opened fire on the orders of MPA Fazal Hakeem and his son Salman, adding that all employees of their bungalow have been arrested by the police. Following the incident, she submitted an application at the Saidu Sharif Police Station, demanding legal action against all those involved.

Zeb-un-Nisa appealed to the government, the Police Department and heads of other relevant institutions to stop the illegal use of personnel against her and to provide her protection. Meanwhile Salman, son of MPA Fazal Hakeem, alleged that at around 3:00 am, Zeb-un-Nisa, the granddaughter of the Wali of Swat, along with around 50 armed men, attacked his house and resorted to heavy firing, creating fear and panic among his family members and in the entire locality. Addressing a press conference at the Swat Press Club along with his uncle Afrain Khan, Salman and Gran Bacha, he said that a dispute over a bungalow with Zeb-un-Nisa had been ongoing for a long time; however, the matter escalated to the extent that an attack was carried out on their house. He said that upon receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot and arrested 19 people. Afrain Khan, brother of MPA Fazal Hakeem, said that they wanted a peaceful resolution of the issue through a jirga and the courts.
