ISLAMABAD: Two women were killed by an unidentified gunman, targeting them at a wedding ceremony on Saturday night.

The Islamabad police have launched a high-priority investigation and formed specialised teams to apprehend the suspect(s) responsible for the double murder in the jurisdiction of the Bahara Kahu Police Station, a police spokesman confirmed late Saturday night.

The tragic incident, the full details of which are still emerging, has prompted a swift and decisive response from law enforcement officials.

SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza personally visited the site of the double homicide to oversee the initial investigation and direct operations.

Orders have been issued for the immediate formation of dedicated teams to utilise all available resources and modern investigative techniques to swiftly identify and arrest the perpetrators.

Police officials took prompt action upon receiving the report as the bodies of the deceased and one injured were immediately shifted to the hospital.

SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza has issued strict orders to all teams to apprehended the suspects as soon as possible to provide justice to the victims’ families. The police department is treating this case with the utmost seriousness, vowing to leave no stone unturned in their pursuit of the killer(s).
