I would like to share some thoughts and highlight the problems that citizens are facing with the e-challan system in Karachi. We understand that the system was introduced to improve traffic discipline, but it is still not up to the mark. There are clear loopholes. Many citizens receive challans with unclear or incorrect camera evidence. Numerous people have also complained that they did not receive SMS alerts, which causes inconvenience during the renewal process.
The authorities are requested to improve camera accuracy and ensure strict checks and balances within the e-challan department. Action should be taken against those responsible when the system fails to function properly. Public awareness campaigns should also be launched so that citizens fully understand how the system works.
