Pakistan, China conduct joint counterterrorism exercise ‘Warrior-IX’

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Army and China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) are conducting joint counterterrorism exercise, Warrior-IX, from November 28 to December 14, aimed at enhancing interoperability and strengthening military-to-military cooperation between the two countries.

The Distinguished Visitors Day (DVD) was held on December 11 at the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), Pabbi. Jiang Zaidong, Ambassador of China to Pakistan, attended as the chief guest, accompanied by senior Chinese dignitaries. The Chief of General Staff of Pakistan Army participated as the guest of honour.

During the visit, officials were briefed on the scope, objectives and execution of the exercise. They observed a series of counterterrorism drills and commended the professionalism, operational capability and high morale of the participating troops from both sides.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the exercise highlights the robust defence partnership between Pakistan and China and reaffirms the commitment of both armed forces to advancing regional peace and stability.
