Under the Gizri flyover in Karachi, an alarming situation continues to escalate as motorists, including rickshaws and bikers, blatantly violate the wrong side rule in large numbers every single day. This creates massive traffic blockages and brings the entire flow to a standstill while citizens remain helpless in the face of this worsening chaos. What is even more disappointing is the complete absence of traffic police personnel at this critical point to prevent or even discourage such open violations, as if this area has been abandoned by the authorities altogether. The introduction of e-chalans may be a modern initiative but it can only be effective and meaningful when active on-ground enforcement is ensured. Without stopping these habitual wrongdoers on the spot the burden on commuters will continue to rise and traffic discipline will remain a distant dream. Therefore, immediate deployment of traffic police under the Gizri flyover and strict action against wrong-side violators is essential to restore smooth traffic movement and public confidence in the system.
