LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) Thursday nullified the death sentence of a man convicted for killing a citizen at the behest of his fiancée.
A two-member bench, led by Justice Shehram Sarwar Chaudhry, heard Nadir’s appeal and ordered his release. Justice Shehram observed that the case was initially registered against an unknown person, raising questions about how the accused was later identified. The complainant’s lawyer argued that a pistol and motorcycle were recovered from Nadir and that his call detail records linked him to the crime. He urged the court to dismiss the appeal. However, the court rejected the request and overturned death sentence, granting relief to accused. Kasur police had registered the case.
