ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Wednesday strongly condemned the ‘absurd and contemptible’ remarks made by Faisal Vawda, calling him a benami senator, a political dwarf and a stooge.
In a statement issued by the central media department, the party lamented that Imran Khan and his spouse Bushra Bibi continued to face over 250 baseless cases driven by political vendetta.
Vawda had passed remarks against the PTI founder chairman Imran Khan and his family and the party a day earlier and on Wednesday as well.
It was noted that the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had already affirmed that meeting Imran Khan’s family, lawyers, and companions was a fundamental right. Hence, insulting the court’s orders and threatening to defy its decisions was not only a blatant crime but also a clear admission that he considered himself above the law.
The party warned that the people of Pakistan would not tolerate any insult directed at Imran, the sanctity of his family, or the dignity of judicial decisions, under any circumstances. The party reminded that the same senator once regarded the PTI founder as a father figure and sat at his feet in respect.
The PTI emphasized that Vawda’s use of phrase ‘aisi ki taisi’ (to hell with it) regarding a court decision was not merely an attack on any political party or family but rather it was a direct insult to the High Court itself.
“This very benami, scrap-dealer senator has, in the past, appeared before the Supreme Court with folded hands, pleading for forgiveness,” the statement said.
It asserted that while the people were familiar with benami (undeclared) properties, hidden bank accounts, and numerous benami transactions, a new spectacle had emerged in recent years from the political junkyard of the country: a benami senator, whose entire political persona rests solely on foul language, threats, and crude, street-level rhetoric.
The party said the absurd, crude, and indecent language used by this benami senator was a clear reflection of his own mental caliber and undeniable proof of his political immaturity.
“Once sheltered under Khan’s political umbrella, he is now attacking Imran Khan and his family in a futile attempt to mask his political orphanhood,” it was charged.
The statement emphasized that the party founder stood tall and unwavering against all odds, refusing to bow his head, whereas this benami character had spent his entire life speaking at others’ behest, which was why every sentence he uttered was steeped in abuse, negativity, and an unmistakable sense of fear.
In a statement on his social media account, Senator Faisal Vawda said ‘it is a dirty mind that unjustifiably destabilises our country and defames our army. The conspiracy to destabilise the country and defame our army will be strictly stopped’.
He made it clear that everyone, including the May 9 “terrorists” who were hiding in KP, should be ready for their reckoning. Vawda said according to the Constitution and law, family meetings were allowed for the current situation, whereas according to the Constitution and law, lawyers were allowed to meet in connection with the case.
He cautioned that family meetings were becoming political messages; from now on they will also be stopped, if lawyers give any political message other than the case, they will also be stopped.
The ‘party (PTI) that spread provocations has brought us to this crossroads that it is now difficult to return, now cases and things will be taken to their logical conclusion,’ he remarked.
“In principle, double love for love, double respect for honor, and the answer to bullying is double bullying,” he wrote.” If Chief Minister KP Sohail Afridi makes a fuss, even the little politics will be ended with the Governor’s rule in the province, he said.
