QUETTA: Authorities in Balochistan have reported intensified operations across the province, with officials stating that 100 terrorists were neutralized in the northern regions and more than 200 operations were carried out in district Kachhi.
According to a briefing, 3,561 illegal petrol pumps were sealed, while customs officials conducted 2,575 operations over the past three months, resulting in the seizure of 416 non-custom-paid vehicles.
These details were shared during a high-level meeting of the Provincial Harden the State Committee, chaired by Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Wednesday. The session reviewed progress on the targets set by the National and Provincial Action Committees, overall law and order, and ongoing security measures.
Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Home Hamza Shafqaat, and senior security officials attended the meeting. Shafqaat briefed participants on the coordinated operations underway against terrorist networks and criminal groups in various districts. He added that the registration of seminaries and enforcement of relevant regulations are being ensured.
Chief Minister Bugti expressed satisfaction with the reported progress in curbing smuggling, crime, and security-related threats. He directed relevant departments to accelerate ongoing operations and maintain strict enforcement without leniency. Bugti stressed the importance of consistent implementation of decisions taken by the National and Provincial Action Committees.
He reiterated that ensuring the safety of citizens’ lives and property is the state’s core responsibility and said the government will continue to employ all available resources to sustain peace and support the province’s development process.
