LAHORE: The National Women’s One-Day Tournament in Faisalabad produced two exciting contests on Monday, with the Stars and Conquerors registering convincing victories.
The Stars showcased batting dominance to defeat the Invincibles by 69 runs, posting 287/5 before bowling out their opponents for 218. The highlight of the match was Omaima Sohail’s brilliant century (127), supported by Sidra Amin’s fluent 93. Together, they stitched a 163-run partnership, laying the foundation for a commanding total.
For the Invincibles, Natalia Parvaiz (84) and Hafsa Khalid (65) fought valiantly but lacked support from the rest of the batting order. With the ball, Omaima Sohail contributed further, alongside Aroub Shah and Syeda Masooma, each claiming two wickets. Omaima’s all-round brilliance earned her the Player of the Match award.
The Conquerors chased down the Strikers’ total of 164 all out, winning by six wickets. Strikers’ innings was built around Shawal Zulfiqar’s 84, but the rest of the batting lineup faltered against disciplined bowling. Umm-e-Hani was the standout performer, taking 4 wickets for 31 runs, dismantling the Strikers’ middle order.
In reply, the Conquerors reached 167/4, powered by Gull Feroza’s 66 and Saira Jabeen’s 36, ensuring a comfortable chase. Umm-e-Hani’s match-winning spell earned her the Player of the Match award.
