Adiala jail security on red alert

ISLAMABAD: The external security of Adiala Central Jail, Rawalpindi, has been put on red alert.

A special security plan to deal with any situation has been implemented immediately, posting 23 inspectors and more than 700 policemen to security duty.

Heavy police force in five pickets and SHOs of 12 police stations will be on duty for 12 hours in two shifts. Police personnel will be deployed at Dahgal Naka, Gate 1, Gate 5, Factory Naka and Gorakhpur Pickets for the outer security of the Adiala Central Jail. RMP force and staff of Punjab Constabulary will be deployed. The personnel on security duty will be equipped with rubber bullets, teargas, baton shields and anti-riot equipment. Ten traffic police officers and officials will be present.

The members of the Adiala Guard will remain on standby even after duty. The duty will directly be supervised by SP Sadr Anam Sher. SHOs and staff of police stations of Gujjar Khan, Mandra, Chontra, Kahuta, Kallar Sydan, Dhamial, Chakri, Rawat, women police stations of Morgah, Cantt and Sadr Barooni will be deployed.
