HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad police have arrested a woman and her husband for the brutal murder of her six-year-old son in Chhalgari.
According to SHO Inspector Atta Muhammad Kaka, a case was registered two days ago at the Chhalgari police station after the body of a child, identified as Muhammad Ali, alias Saqib Ali, was found in Mewo Hajano village.
The case was filed under the Section 302 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of the child’s father, Irfan Ali Hajano. During the investigation, police discovered that the complainant’s ex-wife, Saniya, and her current husband, Baqar Hajano, had ongoing disputes with Irfan over the custody of the child.
Both the suspects were taken into custody, and during the interrogation, the mother confessed to strangling her son with the help of her husband. The medical report later confirmed that the cause of death was suffocation.
Saniya told police that her husband refused to accept the child, who mostly stayed at his grandmother’s house and had poor health. She admitted that in a fit of rage over financial difficulties and family disputes, she killed her son with Baqar’s help. Further investigations are under way.
