GUJRANWALA: Anti-Terrorism Court Special Judge Naeem Saleem has awarded life term on two counts and a fine of Rs1.5 million to the accused in the Imran Khan attack case.
The court acquitted two accused, giving them the benefit of doubt. The convict, Naveed, on November 7, 2022, opened firing on the PTI long march within the limits of Wazirabad City Police Station. As a result, Moazzam, a PTI activist, died from a bullet injury while PTI founder Imran Khan and PTI local leaders were injured. Police arrested Naveed on the spot. The judge announced the sentence under murder and terrorism sections. The court acquitted co-accused Tayyab Jahangir Butt and Waqas by giving them the benefit of doubt. The prosecution had not presented any witness against Butt.
