Every year, in the days leading up to Christmas, various churches in the city host Carol Services. It’s a very popular part of the festive season, and includes Bible readings (or lessons), and singing of hymns and carols. Special choirs perform those before the congregations join in. The carol services are often held in the evenings. Candles feature prominently, creating a warm and reverent atmosphere.
