Pakistani pop queen Nazia Hassan's music and soulful voice remain timeless, retaining their magic even decades later. Her songs still carry the same charm they had when she performed on stage and on screen, a legacy few artists achieve.
Beyond the immense popularity of the late Pakistani singer at home, Hassan's music also resonated across borders. Several of her songs found a place in Indian movies, either in their original form or as remakes. Notable examples include "Boom Boom" in the film "Star" (1982) and the remake of "Disco Deewane" in "Student of the Year" (2012).
Recently, former Bollywood diva Priyanka Chopra, her husband Nick Jonas and his brothers were seen vibing to the Nazia Hassan classic "Aap Jaisa Koi".
The song was famously featured in the Indian film Qurbani (1980), starring Zeenat Aman. The song was composed by British-Indian composer Biddu, as Hassan's debut in Bollywood.
Nick shared the video on his Instagram and mentioned Aman in the caption, but noticeably did not acknowledge the iconic voice behind the song. Fans reacted warmly to the clip, enjoying the Jonas Brothers' energy, while several Pakistanis pointed out the missing credit to Nazia Hassan.
The video was later shared by Priyanka on her Instagram stories.
Shortly afterwards, she posted the original song clip from Qurbani, once again tagging Zeenat Aman, but this time also acknowledging Nazia Hassan through a hashtag.
