Singer and actor Wang Leehom surprised audiences during his recent concert in China by performing alongside six humanoid robots, a moment that quickly drew widespread attention online.
The performance took place during Wang’s Chengdu concerts held from December 18 to 21, where footage showed him dancing to his hit song Open Fire with the robots positioned beside him on stage.
Dressed in sequined tops and black leather trousers, the robots carried out a tightly choreographed routine that included spins, coordinated steps and acrobatic flips.
Clips from the concert circulated widely on social media, drawing reactions from viewers around the world. Tesla chief executive Elon Musk reshared one of the videos on X, describing the performance as “impressive”.
The robots were developed by Hangzhou-based Unitree Robotics and belong to the company’s Unitree G1 series. Each robot stands about 130 centimetres tall and weighs roughly 35 kilograms.
According to the manufacturer, the G1 model features more than 23 joint motors and is designed to perform precise movements, including simulated hand functions.
Unitree says the robots have a battery life of around two hours and are priced at approximately $13,500 each.
