ISLAMABAD: In a major step aimed at boosting force morale and improving personnel welfare, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry, has issued the new Islamabad Police Leave Policy 2026.

Under the revised framework, mandatory weekly rest days have been introduced for all police personnel, distinct and separate from standard leave entitlements. The updated policy clearly defines rules, regulations, and approval authorities for casual, privilege (earned), medical, and special leaves to ensure administrative clarity and operational efficiency.
