RAWALPINDI: A confrontation has emerged between lawyers and judicial staff following an alleged attack on a civil judge at the Judicial Complex.
The Civil Lines Police have registered a case against seven lawyers — including Muhammad Aslam Khan Niazi and Muhammad Farooq Aslam Khan — under various legal provisions, including Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, for attacking and injuring Civil Judge Malik Ali Miran.
In response to the registration of this case, the District Bar Association called for a strike on Wednesday, leading to a boycott of judicial proceedings. Meanwhile, judicial staff from various courts also staged a protest, holding a rally around the Judicial Complex to condemn the attack on the civil judge.
Due to these separate protests and strikes by lawyers and judicial staff, court hearings could not take place on Wednesday.
