ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) have agreed to constitute a parliamentary committee on electoral reforms.

According to sources, it has been agreed that the chairmanship of Electoral Reforms Committee will be given to the PPP. The committee will include representatives of all the political parties in parliament, the sources said.

The PPP is pushing the PMLN for the formation of parliamentary committee for electoral reforms from the day one after becoming a coalition partner.

It is expected that resolution for the formation of the committee would be presented in the upcoming sessions of Senate and National Assembly separately.

Speaker National Assembly will consult parliamentary leaders in the National Assembly for the nominees in the parliamentary committee. The Senate chairman will notify the names of senators in the committee following consultation with parliamentary leaders in the Senate.
