QUETTA: A man was killed after explosive material fitted to a motorcycle went off in Balochistan’s coastal town of Ormara, police said on Wednesday.

According to police, the blast occurred outside the house of Syed Muheem Khan in the Ghazi Line locality of Ormara, where explosive material planted in a motorcycle detonated with a loud explosion.

As a result, a man identified as Raja, a resident of Pasni, died on the spot.

The explosion spread panic and fear in the area, while the motorcycle was completely destroyed in the blast. Soon after receiving information, police, Bomb Disposal Squad personnel, and security forces rushed to the site and cordoned off the area.

The body was shifted to a hospital and later moved to the morgue after completion of legal formalities.

Authorities said further investigation into the incident is underway, while the Ormara administration is handling the case.
