LAHORE: Pakistan women’s cricket star Sadia Iqbal has intensified her net preparations ahead of Pakistan’s crucial next match at the T20 World Cup, with a focused emphasis on mastering deliveries with new balls during the powerplay phase.

In an interview on the sidelines of net practice session, Sadia demonstrated her meticulous approach to bowling practice, working on precise ball movements and tactical execution that could prove decisive in tomorrow’s high-stakes encounter against South Africa.

Sadia opened the session by revealing her primary objective: “Today we are practicing with some new balls again in the nets, and the goal is to see how much we can utilize this in the powerplay. Today, we will be working precisely on that.”

The powerplay overs—the first six minutes of any T20 innings—are critical for both bowlers and batsmen. By refining her new-ball skills, Sadia aims to gain an early advantage against opposition batsmen, setting the tone for Pakistan’s defensive strategy. During the session, Sadia bowled to teammate Munni (also referred to as Muneeba), executing a carefully planned delivery designed to manipulate the batsman’s positioning.
