LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced separate red-ball and white-ball training camps at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), with a total of 49 players set to participate as part of preparations for upcoming international and domestic assignments.
The NCA Red-Ball Camp will begin on 8 June and continue until 10 July, featuring 22 players. Those who were part of Pakistan’s recently concluded ODI series against Australia and have been selected for the camp will join from 15 June.
Meanwhile, the NCA White-Ball Camp will run from 15 June to 18 September, with 27 players included in the programme. Both camps have been designed to prepare players for future international and domestic competitions.
During the camps, participants will work closely with national and NCA coaches, as well as PCB medical staff, to improve their skills, fitness and overall development. Players will also take part in one-on-one sessions with coaches to gain a better understanding of the technical and fitness standards required at the international level.
The NCA recently conducted separate red-ball and white-ball camps ahead of Pakistan’s Test tour of Bangladesh and the three-match ODI series against Australia, respectively. Pakistan are currently enjoying a break of more than 50 days from international cricket following their third consecutive ODI series triumph over Australia. The Green Shirts secured the series by winning the third and final ODI by four wickets in a low-scoring contest.
Pakistan will return to international action with a two-match Test series against the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago. The matches are scheduled to take place from 25–29 July and 2–6 August, respectively.
