Pakistan men’s team to feature in World Junior Squash

KARACHI: Pakistan will field men’s team in the World Squash Junior Championships that is to be held in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada, from July 20-31.

During the World Squash Junior Team Championships, national federation squads of four players aged under 19 compete against each other in individual matches, with the first team to win two matches winning the tie.

According to World Squash Federation, this year’s championships will see 40 teams compete across 24 nations. In the men’s event, 24 teams are set to compete, with two additional teams participating in this championship from last year in Cairo, Egypt.

This year, 16 federations will send both a men’s and women’s team, including hosts Canada and defending men’s and women’s champions Egypt. Other federations returning after a long absence include Mexico, who have a men’s team competing for the first time since 2010, and the Netherlands, who will return to the men’s team championship for the first time since 2022.

The teams that are participating in the championships include Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chinese Taipei, Egypt, England, France, Germany, Hong Kong, China, India, Ireland, Japan, Kuwait, Macau, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, South Africa, Scotland, Switzerland, and USA.
