LAHORE:Minister for Housing & Urban Development Bilal Yasin said that all cabinet members and officers will remain present in the field during all three days of EidulAzha and animal waste will be collected from every doorstep.

The uninterrupted supply of gas, electricity, and water will also be ensured. The minister shared this information while addressing a press conference at Wasa Headquarters on Tuesday.

Wasa Vice ChairmanChaudhry Shehbaz and Managing Director Wasa Lahore Ghufran Ahmed were also present on the occasion.Provincial Minister Bilal Yasin stated that after the ritual of qurbani, heaps of animal waste accumulate in streets and neighborhoods. Maintaining cleanliness across Punjab during these days is a major challenge. Bilal Yasin clarified that leave of Wasa employees had been cancelled and continuous operations will be ensured throughout the Eid days. Wasa operations will begin immediately after Eid prayers with field monitoring activities. He added that the establishment of Wasa services in 41 districts from only five Wasas within one year has been made possible under the leadership of the CM Punjab. Punjab is a province of 140 million people, and the purpose of imposing fines is to ensure implementation of the law.

Responding to a question, Bilal Yasin said that the banned organisations are completely prohibited from collecting sacrificial animal hides. The Punjab Home Department has issued detailed guidelines regarding proscribed organisations. He also appealed to citizens to use water responsibly. Strict action will be taken against those throwing animal waste into canals and open drains.
