LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board’s Coach Education Department has wrapped up its nationwide Level 1 Coaching Courses for the 2025–26 season, concluding the programme with a four-day session in Karachi from 19–22 May. The final course brought together 30 participants, marking the completion of a countrywide effort to raise coaching standards and broaden the base of qualified instructors.
The Karachi course followed successful Level 1 programmes held earlier in Peshawar, Rawalpindi and Multan, part of the PCB’s sustained push to professionalise coaching at all levels of the game. Organisers said the series was designed to ensure consistent delivery of modern coaching principles across Pakistan’s cricketing regions and to create a larger pool of certified coaches for schools, clubs and regional academies.
Over the four days, instructors led participants through a comprehensive curriculum emphasising modern coaching methodologies, technical and tactical development, player management and practical session planning. Practical drills, classroom sessions and scenario-based workshops were used to translate theory into on-field practice, with a focus on contemporary approaches to batting, bowling and fielding coaching.
Course facilitators also addressed athlete welfare, communication skills and the role of data and video analysis in everyday coaching. Participants were encouraged to adopt evidence-based training methods and to prioritise long-term player development over short-term results. PCB officials described the Level 1 series as a cornerstone of their coach-education strategy and said follow-up measures will include monitoring the deployment of newly certified coaches and offering advanced courses to sustain professional growth.
