LAHORE: The 38th day winter meeting of the Lahore Race Club has a card of five competitions with the opener being the median appearance of a flock while the remaining four are diversified Class VII to various divisions.
The opening contest, Class VII Div VI & VII (Maiden) 1000m, is a wide open newcomers’ heat featuring eleven runners. The race carries no official book favourite, but the preview selections include Chahal King as the tip, Gondal’s Height for a place, and Lex Lugar as a fluke pick. The full field for Race 1 is: Gondal’s Height, Roxy, Quiz, Mohtarma, Barbaro, Mumraiz The Great, Hassan Star, Bilal One, Fateh One, Lex Lugar, Chahal King.
In Race 2-Class VII Div VI & VII (Maiden) 1000m, eight maidens go to post in a compact field where market moves will be important. The book lists Sea Of Class as favourite with Princess Arooj for place and Power Up as a fluke; the preview favours Mirza Prince, with Dogar Choice for a place and Sea Of Class as an each way alternative. Race 4 participants are: Samore City, Sarkar Raj, Pakiza, Falco, Ustrana Love, Metro Queen, Little Master (plus four reserves).
The card concludes with Race 5-Class VII Div IV & V 1000m, an eight runner sprint where Absolutely Not is the book favourite, Raja The Great the book place, and Haseeb Warrior the book fluke. The preview prefers Taj Mahal to take the finale, with Absolutely Not for place and Zaman Sahib as a fluke.
