ISLAMABAD: Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majuka has issued a detailed 27-page verdict in the Sana Yousaf murder case, sentencing accused Umar Hayat to death for murder.
The court ruled in its verdict that the prosecution presented strong and undeniable evidence against the accused. According to the verdict, two eyewitnesses recorded statements against the accused, while the fingerprints of the accused were also recovered from the victim’s house.
The verdict further stated that, during the investigation, the vehicle and pistol used in the incident were also recovered from the accused. It noted that the accused killed the 17-year-old girl after she refused to meet him, and no other motive for the incident came to light.
The court held that the accused does not deserve any leniency and sentenced him to death along with a fine of Rs200,000 under Section 302 of the IPC. The court also sentenced him to 10 years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs200,000 under Section 392, 10 years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs200,000 under Section 499, and one year’s imprisonment and a fine of Rs100,000 under Section 411.
