KARACHI: DIB Pakistan and Pocket Money have entered into a strategic partnership to enable US dollar-to-rupee cash-outs across Pakistan, aimed at improving speed, compliance and convenience for home remittances and freelance earnings.

The collaboration is designed to support cross-border payments and international transactions for freelancers, while bringing more of Pakistan’s remote and gig workforce into the formal financial system.

DIB Pakistan said the initiative combines its regulated banking infrastructure with Pocket Money’s digital platform to streamline foreign currency inflows into rupees, positioning the service as a compliant channel for digital payments.

DIB Pakistan Chief Executive Muhammad Ali Gulfaraz said the partnership reflects the bank’s focus on “innovative, secure and ethical financial solutions” and would provide a regulated pathway for US dollar inflows to reach individuals in rupees. He said the system would improve access to earnings for freelancers, remote workers and households while supporting the formal economy.

Pocket Money Chief Executive Moe Jangda said the arrangement would allow users to process US dollar earnings through a regulated and trusted banking partner, adding that the collaboration enhances the platform’s core offering for its users.

The companies said the service is backed by regulatory approval from the State Bank of Pakistan, which has sanctioned the specific use case following DIB Pakistan’s application, establishing a compliant framework for cross-border cash-out transactions.
