ISLAMABAD/ QUETTA: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tributes to Balochistan police woman Constable Malik Naz Baloch, who embraced martyrdom while protecting the motherland from terrorists in Khuzdar.

The prime minister, in a statement, prayed to Allah Almighty for the elevation of the rank of martyred constable and expressed heartfelt condolences to her family. He prayed for the strength for the bereaved family to bear the loss with equanimity.

The prime minister said that Malik Naz Baloch was the first woman police constable from Balochistan, who set an example of bravery by laying down her life in the line of duty for the protection of the homeland.

“The entire nation, including myself, takes pride in the brave police force. The war against the scourge of terrorism will continue until its elimination from the country,” he resolved. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Balochistan Sarfaraz Bugti paid rich tribute to the martyred female police constable Malik Naz, stating that she laid down her life for the country and that her sacrifice would be remembered forever in golden words in Balochistan’s history.

In a message posted on the social media platform X, the Chief Minister said her martyrdom is even more significant as her husband, Abdul Ghani, had also previously embraced martyrdom while serving the nation.

He said the unmatched sacrifice made by one family is a matter of pride for the entire nation. Bugti assured that the Balochistan government stands with the children and family of the martyred constable and will take full responsibility for their welfare and support.

The chief minister said that the struggle against terrorism will continue until its complete elimination, and the mission of the martyrs will be carried forward to its rightful conclusion. Meanwhile, Balochistan Home Minister Ziaullah Langove also saluted the sacrifice of Malik Naz, saying the entire nation pays tribute to her for setting an example of courage. He said the police force has made remarkable sacrifices in the war against terrorism and that those responsible would not be forgiven.

Langove vowed that the terrorists and all those involved would soon be brought to justice, adding that the government would not leave the families of martyrs alone. Chief Minister’s Aide for Media and Political Affairs Shahid Rind said Malik Naz gave her life while protecting the public, demonstrating outstanding devotion to duty.

He added that the injured officials are being provided medical treatment, while the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has launched an investigation into the incident. Rind stated that operations against anti-peace elements will continue without interruption and that the writ of the state will be maintained at all costs. Shahid Rind also noted that Malik Naz belonged to a family known for sacrifices, as her husband—who served in the Levies force—was previously martyred in a targeted killing.
