ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Haroonur Rashid on Friday praised the efforts of PM Shehbaz Sharif, DPM Ishaq Dar, CDF Asim Munir and all individuals involved in securing a ceasefire between Iran and United States.
In a statement issued here, he and SCBA Secretary Zahid Aslam Awan said the region was on the brink of a severe human catastrophe, which was avoided through Pakistan’s vigorous mediation and negotiation efforts. They said these efforts enabled the world to avert witnessing another tragic humanitarian crisis, adding that the role of the government of Pakistan in this context is memorable and deeply honorable.
They said the world now recognizes Pakistan as a highly reliable and trustworthy mediator and the only viable net security provider of the region. Pakistan’s dignity and standing within the international community have been significantly enhanced, they said, adding that the country’s stance that wars and terrorism, in all their manifestations, should be condemned is now more effectively communicated globally.
They prayed for the success of the Islamabad Accord and the long-term peace process between the involved parties and emphasized that peace must be given a chance, as it is the only viable path forward for global harmony.
