LAHORE : The Suthra Punjab Agency Lahore (SPAL) has initiated a comprehensive cleanliness operation in Shalimar Town for the 438th annual Urs of Hazrat Madho Lal Hussain.

Over 50 sanitation workers along with more than 20 vehicles have been deployed in and around the shrine to ensure a clean and hygienic environment for devotees.

The three-day Urs celebrations, continuing from March 28 to 30, are being supported by round-the-clock cleaning activities, with sanitation staff performing duties in three shifts.

In addition, washing of adjoining roads with phenyl-mixed water and lime sprinkling is being carried out to maintain cleanliness in surrounding areas. Director General of the Suthra Punjab Authority, Babar Sahib Din, said that ensuring cleanliness for visitors remained the agency’s top priority, adding that all available resources were being utilised for this purpose.

He also urged devotees to cooperate with sanitation teams by disposing of waste in designated bins or handing it over to cleaning staff to help maintain cleanliness during the Urs.
