Tarar visits dog bite victim’s house

LAHORE : Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar and senior politician Sajida Farooq visited the house of the family of an eight-year old girl Mehar who died due to a dog bite in the Township area.

Attaullah Tarar and Sajida Farooq Tarar met the late Mehar’s father Qaiser Siddique Masih and expressed their grief with the family. They gave a cheque of Rs500,000 to the affected family, and job orders were also issued for the girl’s father. The minister constituted a two-member committee comprising Rafaqat Dogar and Mari Gul to review the situation related to stray dogs and the legal matters concerning court-ordered stay. The committee will present the case before the relevant court and also request the withdrawal of the stay to facilitate preventive measures and prevent such incidents in the future.

The minister said his heart was deeply saddened by the tragedy and assured the family of full support.

He added that all possible steps would be taken to prevent such incidents in the future and to address public safety concerns related to stray animals.
