ISLAMABAD: According to a recent report by Gallup, there has been an improvement in the perception of gender equality worldwide.
The survey report was prepared with the cooperation of Worldwide Independent Network, based on opinions gathered from 44 countries, with participation of 45,000 people.
In response to the question whether gender equality has been achieved at work, in politics, or at home,
66pc of respondents across 44 countries said gender equality has been fully or partially achieved at the workplace.
Fifty-seven percent said equality exists in politics, and 71pc believed gender equality has been fully or somewhat achieved at home. In the 2025 survey, 59pc had said equality existed at workplace, 51pc in political sphere and 68pc at home.
According to the survey, contrary to the overall opinion, there is a clear difference between the views of men and women regarding achievement of gender equality at work, in politics and at home.
Seventy-one percent of men said equal rights exist in workplace compared to 61% of women. In politics, 63pc of men acknowledged equality, while 52pc of women agreed. At home, 75pc of men said gender equality exists compared to 68pc of women.
