Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Traffic Police have reported a significant breakthrough in urban road safety, noting a 25 percent overall decline in traffic violations across the district over the past month.

The department’s latest statistical report highlights a targeted crackdown on high-risk behaviours. During the last month, authorities issued 110,965 challans and registered 114 First Information Reports (FIRs) against the most serious offenders.

The improvement follows a period of intensified enforcement and public awareness campaigns led by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam. Officials credit the shift to a "zero-tolerance" approach toward serious offenses, resulting in a safer environment for both motorists and pedestrians.
