Islamabad:A delegation from the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office met with Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Wajiha Qamar here to discuss education initiatives in Pakistan and evolving development approaches.
Officials said the meeting focused on the sustainability of the Pakistan Institute of Education and the Foundational Learning Hub, as well as strengthening federal–provincial coordination on curriculum, data systems and the Prime Minister’s Education Taskforce.
The minister and the visitors reaffirmed a shared commitment to advancing foundational learning and improving education outcomes across the country. Meanwhile, Pakistan and Egypt have agreed to deepen collaboration in curriculum reform, digital education, TVET and student exchanges to strengthen bilateral educational ties.
The agreement came during a meeting between Minister of State for Federal Education Wajiha Qamar and Ambassador of Egypt Dr Ihab Abdel Hamid here. The two discussed ways to advance educational cooperation between the two countries, especially on curriculum rationalisation, the Egyptian Baccalaureate model, digital transformation under the “Great Book” initiative, medical student coordination, classroom management reforms, TVET collaboration, Arabic language teaching and enhanced exchange programmes for students and education professionals.
