LAHORE:The Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA), following the directives of Punjab govt, has announced a special subsidy on poultry products to provide relief to masses during the holy month of Ramazan.
The Traders Association will extend full cooperation in this initiative, and the supply of affordable chicken and eggs has been initiated in Ramazan Bazaars. Through designated dealers in all Sahulat Bazaars, chicken meat will be available on special subsidy of Rs15 per kg, eggs at special discount of Rs10 per dozen.
A key feature of this relief package is that all funds for the subsidy will be provided by the PPA itself. Representatives of poultry traders will monitor the supply chain and other market matters to ensure that citizens receive these affordable items without any interruption. To implement this project, the PPA Vice Chairman Malik M Sharif, along with Ch Fargham Toor and Rai Mansab Ali, visited the Sahulat Bazaars accompanied by the leader of the Poultry Traders Association Tariq Javed. Under the supervision of these leaders, special counters have officially started operations, allowing citizens to purchase items at discounted rates.
Meanwhile, Punjab Minister for Agriculture Syed Ashiq Hussain has raised issue of removing obstacles to potato exports with federal authorities. On the instructions of the CM, Ashiq Hussain along with Secy Agriculture Iftikhar Ali met with Federal Minister for National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain.
Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal was also present during the meeting. The purpose of these meetings was to remove obstacles to potato exports. On the directives of the PM, the Ministry of Commerce and the National Food Security Division took immediate action. Significant progress was made in identifying new markets to increase potato exports. Positive developments were reported regarding potato exports to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Sri Lanka, the ministry said.
