LAHORE: The 62nd National Badminton Championship concluded in Peshawar with WAPDA emerging as the dominant force, securing 4 gold, 4 silver, and 6 bronze medals across team and individual events.

Their performance reflected not only depth in talent but also consistency across categories, reaffirming WAPDA’s stature as the powerhouse of Pakistani badminton. The eight-day event, organised by the Pakistan Badminton Federation, featured 11 teams including Army, Railways, SNGPL, HEC, Police, and provincial squads. In the Men’s Team event, WAPDA defeated Pakistan Army 3-1 in the final, showcasing exceptional teamwork and tactical discipline. The Women’s Team also impressed, finishing runners-up to Army after a competitive final. Individual brilliance further highlighted WAPDA’s dominance. Mahoor Shahzad claimed the Women’s Singles gold, with teammate Ghazala Siddiqui taking silver.
