KARACHI: TikTok removed more than 28.19 million videos in Pakistan between July and September 2025 for violating its Community Guidelines, according to the platform’s Q3 2025 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report.
The report shows that 99.8 per cent of the violative content in Pakistan was removed proactively, with 95.9 per cent taken down within 24 hours of upload. The figures highlight the scale of content moderation activity in the country during the quarter.
Globally, TikTok removed about 204.5 million videos during the same period, representing roughly 0.7 per cent of all uploads. Of these, more than 186.6 million videos were detected and removed using automated systems, while nearly 8.95 million videos were restored after review. The global proactive removal rate stood at 99.3 per cent.
The report also noted the removal of over 118.6 million fake accounts worldwide, along with more than 22.2 million accounts suspected of belonging to users under the age of 13.
Content classified as misinformation accounted for 32.9 per cent of removed videos globally, while 34.4 per cent involved edited or AI-generated media. Videos containing sensitive or mature themes made up 30 per cent of removals, followed by breaches of safety and civility standards at 15.7 per cent.
TikTok said the report was part of its regular transparency disclosures and is available through its Transparency Centre in both Urdu and English.
