ISLAMABAD: US Chargé d’Affaires in Islamabad Natalie A. Baker has won the hearts of her friends in Pakistan when they greeted her on Christmas and she responded with “Happy Quaid-e-Azam Day” along with generous prayers.

Ms. Natalie A. Baker assumed her assignment in Islamabad in January this year and has since made countless friends across the country. Her reply to greeting was simple: “Thank you!” She continued, “Happy Quaid-e-Azam day, Season’s greetings and very Happy New Year!”

The gesture has been widely appreciated by her friends, including Pakistani diplomats. She added in her reply: “Looking forward to continued success and close cooperation working together in 2026!”

She concluded the reply by praying “Stay blessed and Warmest regards.” The diplomatic sources said the sentiments expressed by the top diplomat of the US indicate that the American envoy not only understands the feelings and culture of the people of her host country but also attaches fair amount of respect to the Founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
