ISLAMABAD The Accountant General Pakistan Revenues (AGPR) on Saturday called on Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi.
During the meeting, the CJP was briefed on key initiatives undertaken to advance digitalisation of government payments.
The CJP was told that the implementation of Online Billing Solution for the Supreme Court of Pakistan has been initiated and the system is expected to become operational within a fortnight.
“It is expected to significantly expedite expenditure-related payments while eliminating reliance on manual bills and cheques,” says a press release issued here on Saturday.
During the meeting, the CJP appreciated the initiative taken by the AGPR and assured full institutional support, observing that strengthening financial management systems at the Supreme Court of Pakistan remains among his key priorities.
He also issued necessary instructions to the sections concerned to ensure effective and timely implementation. He further desired that the initiative be also extended to the high courts, with approval of respective chief justices.
Justice Yahya further emphasized the need to digitise receipt-side financial instruments through fintech-enabled solutions to facilitate litigants and other stakeholders in the digital deposit of court fees, securities and related payments.
He underscored that such initiatives should be pursued in coordination with the State Bank of Pakistan to ensure secure, standardised and transparent financial transactions.
