BARA: Four personnel of security forces were martyred and two others sustained injuries in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Bara tehsil of Khyber tribal district on Saturday, official sources said.
The sources said that suspected militants targeted a convoy of security forces with an IED in Karapa area, Bar Qambarkhel, Bara.
As a result, four soldiers of paramilitary Frontier Corps were martyred on the spot while two others sustained injuries in the attack.
The martyrs were identified as sepoys Fida Nawaz, Lal Madeen, Wajid and Aamir Khan while the injured included Subedar Yarmat Khan and Irshad. The injured were rushed to a hospital. Soon after the blast, the security forces and local police reached the place and cordoned off the area to carry out a search operation. However, no arrests were made. No group claimed responsibility for the blast.
