RAWALPINDI: Security forces have killed 13 Khwarij in two separate engagements in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province.
On December 12 and 13, security forces killed 13 Khwarij belonging to Indian proxy Fitna al-Khwarij in two separate engagements in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Sunday.
On reported presence of Khwarij, an intelligence-based operation (IBO) was conducted by the security forces in Mohmand district. During the operation, troops effectively engaged the Khwarij location and, after an intense fire exchange, seven Khwarij were sent to hell.
In another IBO, conducted in Bannu district, six more Khwarij were effectively neutralised by the security forces.
Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored kharji found in the area. A relentless counterterrorism campaign by the security forces and law-enforcement agencies of Pakistan — under the vision ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’ as approved by the federal apex committee on National Action Plan — would continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country, the ISPR statement warned.
