Acting on intelligence information, the Sindh Rangers on Sunday arrested two suspects involved in smuggling non-customs paid smartphones. Zakir Khan and Muhammad Saleem were arrested from Raees Goth in the Lakki Chhardai area, near Jamia Farooqia on Hub River Road.

The Rangers spokesman said they seized 750 smuggled non-customs paid smartphones of different types and 61 tablet computers from the suspects. The smartphones worth millions of rupees had been hidden in secret compartments inside trucks, and were being smuggled from Balochistan to Karachi.

The suspects have been handed over to the Customs authorities, along with the non-customs paid smartphones and the trucks for further legal action, added the spokesman. He appealed to the public to immediately provide information about such elements to the nearest Rangers checkpoint, the Rangers Helpline 1101 or the Rangers Madadgar WhatsApp No. 03479001111 to eliminate crime and smuggling.
