ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP), in partnership with Lahore Qalandars, hosted an official trophy unveiling and talent recognition ceremony in Islamabad Tuesday, marking a major milestone in Pakistan’s biggest-ever nationwide cricket talent identification initiative. The ceremony celebrated the young cricketers who progressed through a rigorous multi-stage process, advancing from open trials to the provincial tournament and into the ongoing national league.

The PMYP Talent Hunt National League 2025 is currently underway with 18 teams -- 10 male and 8 female -- competing concurrently at two venues in Islamabad. The ceremony honoured both male and female athletes who progressed through a rigorous and merit-based pathway, beginning with open trials held across all provinces and extending into an intensive 25-day provincial tournament. Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme on the occasion, said the initiative reflects a major national investment in youth empowerment, noting that the programme has offered structure, direction and opportunity to hundreds of thousands of aspiring cricketers.
