KARACHI: Pakistan Idol is not just a singing competition — it is a gateway that turns the dreams of emerging artists into reality.
Among those dreamers is Faisalabad’s talented singer Hira Qaiser, who has now secured a spot in the Top 16, capturing attention nationwide. Living in a rented house in Sadiq Akbar Town, Hira initially faced strong resistance from her own family. Speaking to Geo News and Jang, she revealed that she had to persuade both her brother and husband with great difficulty.
“But the moment I auditioned in Lahore, fate opened doors for me,” she said. Her husband, sister, and brother pooled their resources to send her to Karachi — a decision that changed the course of her musical journey. At the Lahore auditions, a powerful performance not only impressed the judges but also earned her the last ‘Golden Mic’ of the episode.
“I had no idea I would receive the Golden Mic. It was purely God’s special grace,” Hira said. That very performance propelled her into the Top 16. Despite household responsibilities, caring for her three children, and limited financial resources, Hira’s determination never wavered. Her husband, sister, and brother are overjoyed and hopeful about her progress. Her husband said, “We want her to return as the winner. We truly believe she can become the next Pakistan Idol.”
Her sister added that Hira’s voice is “a gift from God — she never received formal training; it is our prayers that have brought her this far.” Her brother said, “The entire country knows she deserves this. She has reached the Top 16 — and she will win.” Hira’s late father also played a crucial role in shaping her sense of melody and rhythm. His early guidance continues to reflect in the soulful voice that is now enchanting the Pakistan Idol stage.
