ISLAMABAD: A high-level delegation of Turkiye would be visiting Islamabad next week to discuss tension between Pakistan and the Taliban regime, and finding a peaceful solution.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had announced this early this month in Azerbaijan capital Baku, when he had a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Turkey has been taking part in efforts to bring Taliban regime to terms for enforcing peace.

Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan Dr Irfan Neziroglu told this to The News/Jang on Friday at a reception to celebrate Oman’s National Day, hosted by Ambassador Fahad Sulaiman Khalaf Al-Kharusi.

He said Turkey was keen to see that no one should come from Afghan soil for terrorism and bloodshed on the soil of Pakistan. “Both the countries should live like brothers. Turkey is determined to make it possible.”

Dr Neziroglu, who had played an active role in facilitating the Istanbul trilateral talks on Afghanistan, said the delegation visiting Pakistan will also be accompanied by the Turkish intelligence chief and important ministers. Turkish Minister for Energy lparslan Bayraktar, will also be visiting Islamabad next week as part of the delegation.
