Bagh-i-Jinnah is home to scores of ancient trees. Incidentally, the stark, twisting branches of some of these trees are a roosting ground for bats. Against a clear, dusky blue sky, several bats hang from the bare wood of a tree, wrapped snugly in their dark wings. The stillness of the night is suddenly broken by a striking burst of movement as a massive bat takes to the air, its impressive, leathery wingspan fully extended and captured beautifully in mid-flight. This untamed wildlife thrives high above the walking paths of the bustling city park.
